We start the process by taking an initial impression of your arch, which will give us an imprint of your teeth in order to begin fabricating the custom denture. From there, we do several try-ins, starting with the wax try-in to make sure the denture fits you at every step of the way. Next is the teeth try-in, where we consider the shade and position of the teeth to make sure the denture fits well with your teeth structure. The final try-in allows you to approve the overall look and feel of the denture before we send it off to the lab for final cosmetic dentistry touches. Once these steps are complete, we deliver the denture, answer any final questions you may have, and give you instructions on proper care.
Implant-supported dentures are appliances that use a small number of dental implants to support a full set of dentures. They support greater stability in the bone, which reduces the need for other procedures such as a bone graft. Implant-supported dentures also help to restore chewing function, allowing for a more varied and enjoyable diet. It takes three to six months for the bone tissue to fuse to the implants in a process called osseointegration.
